Speaker Bio
Dr. Katie Donohue is the Director of the Division of Rare Diseases and Medical Genetics at the FDA. She graduated from medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Columbia University - New York Presbyterian Hospital. When she finished her clinical training, she joined the Columbia faculty, published original translational epidemiology research in peer-reviewed journals, and completed a master’s degree in epidemiology, trial design, and biostatistics. She joined the FDA as a medical officer in 2014 in the Pulmonary & Allergy Division, moved to the inborn errors group as a clinical team lead in 2017, and became Director of the Division of Rare Diseases and Medical Genetics in 2020.
