Harvard-MIT Center for Regulatory Science is a partnership between Harvard, MIT, and the FDA to bring together a range of scientific disciplines applied to assess the quality, safety and effectiveness of therapeutics and inform regulatory decision-making throughout the product lifecycle. Working across academia, industry, and government institutions, the Center promotes regulatory science through research and education programs and unites stakeholders under a common mission: to promote optimal patient health outcomes through biomedical innovation and the availability of safe and effective treatments.

The Center trains the next generation of regulatory science researchers and professionals through a postdoctoral Fellowship program. The fellowship attracts scientists from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about developing novel approaches in regulatory science to improve medical product development. Fellows work with mentors at Harvard, Harvard-affiliated institutions, and MIT to develop research projects focused on regulatory science challenges with broad applications to medicine and public health. A subset of our fellows partner directly with FDA scientists on high priority projects identified by the agency.
